The story of Shakil Diesel Trading begins in 1997, when Mr. Shakil Khan first arrived in the United Arab Emirates as a Supervisor of Workforce Operations. With dedication, discipline, and a strong work ethic, he quickly advanced to the role of Fleet Manager, overseeing transportation logistics, financial coordination, collections, and operational management.
In 1999, driven by ambition and a deep understanding of UAE’s logistics landscape, Mr. Shakil Khan founded his first transport business with a small fleet of vehicles. He worked as an owner-operator, personally driving, delivering, and managing day-to-day fleet operations. This hands-on experience laid the foundation for what would later become a major fuel logistics enterprise.
By 2005, the company expanded into fuel stocking and controlled storage, establishing its first
diesel depot. This milestone enabled the launch of 24/7 emergency diesel delivery services, supporting construction sites, industrial plants, marine operations, and remote locations across
the UAE.
In 2007, SDK strengthened its operational capability by hiring qualified, trained, and
safety-certified crew members. This included fuel handlers, tanker operators, logistics
coordinators, and HSE-trained staff — enabling the company to scale operations with
professional discipline.
In 2015, SDK secured major supply contracts for critical infrastructure projects, including
large-scale construction, industrial manufacturing, marine bunkering, and government-linked
operations. This positioned the company as a trusted high-volume diesel supplier in the UAE.
In 2020, SDK expanded its footprint by establishing a second headquarters in Dubai, featuring a
50,000 sq. ft. integrated logistics and fuel management facility. This included:
